Upavon Plant Fair at 10-12am Saturday 13 May in Upavon Village Hall

Plant Sale


A plant sale will be held at 10-12am Saturday 13 May in Upavon Village Hall. Refreshments are available, including bacon butties, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Calling all gardeners!


Do you have any surplus seedlings or are you dividing clumps? If so, we are looking for donations for our forthcoming plant fair. Call Sarah on 07791198852 or 01980 630951 if you would like donated plants to be collected anytime up to13 May. Or bring them on the day before 10am. Then don’t forget to also come along and buy something that you don’t already have ... at lovely low prices.

Prizes for children’s tray garden competition

In addition to the plant sale, there will also be a tray garden competition for children with two age groups: 4-7 years and 8-11 years. Your children can fire up their imagination in creating their own designs. The seed tray size is 38cm x 24cm. Bring your tray to Upavon Village Hall before 10.30am on Saturday 13 May when judging will commence. The winners will be announced at 11am and prizes awarded.

Proceeds to St. Mary’s Church.

Upavon Church Fete and Dog Show 2017

will be held on Saturday 2nd September, in and around the church. It will be the only dog show in the village this summer, so please book the date.

There will be all the usual stalls, food provided by The Antelope, two new golf games, and we hope to have a Help the Heroes stand. And of course our usual Big Raffle.
We hope to s ee you there.

Nightly from 2nd May 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required between the hours of 19.00 and 06.00 until 26 May 2017.

Temporary Closure of: A338 (Part), Collingbourne Ducis / Collingbourne Kingston / Burbage (Ref: TTRO 4732)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
A338 (Part), Collingbourne Ducis / Collingbourne Kingston / Burbage; from its junction with Everleigh Road, Collingbourne Ducis in a northerly direction to its junction with B3087 Burbage Road, Burbage.

To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing work, road markings, ironworks and associated works.

Alternative route for HGVs: via A338 – A342 – A361 – A4 – A346 and vice versa.
Alternative route for all other vehicles: via A338 – A342 – A345 – A4 – A346 and vice versa.

The closure and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 2 May 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required nightly between the hours of 19.00 and 06.00 until 26 May 2017. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Temporary Closure of: A360 (Part), Tilshead and Orcheston (Ref: TTRO 4682)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic:
A360 (Part), Tilshead and Orcheston; from a point approximately 300m south of its junction
with Candown Road, Tilshead in a south-easterly direction to its junction with The Gibbet,
Orcheston.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction work, surface dressing,
road markings and associated works.
Alternative route: via A360 (unaffected length) – A342 – A345 – A303 – A360 (unaffected
length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 10 April 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will
be required on weekdays only between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00 until 21 April 2017. It is
anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather
conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are
likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Please take your used Tassimo Pods and Tassimo outer foil wrappers to The Ship Inn, Upavon for Recycling. 

Every pod makes a difference, did you know Wiltshire Air Ambulance will get 2p per pod!! ...

As a little reminder we can only accept TASSIMO PODS & OUTER FOIL WRAPPERS.
No other brands or cardboard please.

URGENT LINK DRIVERS NEEDED

We are desperately in need of new drivers for the LINK scheme, which provides transport for people who need it for hospital appointments, dentists and even social events. If you live in Upavon, Charlton or Rushall, please can you spare a few hours a month to drive for us, and provide a much needed lifeline for such housebound people.

It's a little over 12 years since the club was founded and it is going from strength to strength, so please come along and join us, it's a very nice social evening, there is no age limit.
